Summary

Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting opportunity with a large, well-known tech client of ours, for a full time, senior level, UX Program Manager to oversee the work of a team of Designers.This individual will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle vertical. This role requires an ability to operate independently and take initiative while expertly managing multiple deliverables in a fast paced environment. The bulk of the day-to-day work is focused on managing the logistics, overseeing the team and ensuring high-quality, on-time deliverables. The current group comprises multi-disciplinary teams of Engineers, UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Product Managers, who all care deeply about the people who use their products.

Contract Opportunity: Full-time beginning in June 2025. The initial contract runs through the end of the year. PST time zone working hours required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process (motion, research, visual vs. framework) as well as the product lifecycle, overseeing the relationship between design, engineering and product management
  • Oversee day-to-day logistics program logistics including content production pipeline, team operations, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare and supervise milestones with clear goals and deliverables
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure products meet quality standards, processes are followed, and reviews are scheduled.
  • Work with stakeholders on resourcing, allocation, and prioritization to define key opportunities and balanced workloads.
  • Independently drive ideas to improve UX by analyzing or anticipating user needs and gaps based on input from research and engineering.
  • Foster team collaboration through knowledge-sharing, crits and reviews, work sessions, shared processes, and more.
  • Cultivate a positive team environment focused on producing high-quality, on-time deliverables
  • Schedule and attend daily/weekly meetings with the team
  • Perform quality checks and monitor progress on deliverables, helping to unblock things as needed
  • Report monthly on activities and provide regular updates to leadership
  • Ensure experiments are running smoothly to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery, including polishing and engaging with other teams post-delivery.
  • Drive deadlines and ensure timely delivery without sacrificing quality or endlessly refining.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the design process including motion, research, visual vs. framework
  • Firm grasp of the product development lifecycle
  • 8 years of experience managing UX related projects or programs within a Design or UX organization.
  • Experience with UX disciplines and user-centered development tools and methodologies.
  • Experience improving the velocity/productivity of teams, products, and systems.
  • Experience leading across geographically distributed teams.
