Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled HMI Designer to develop intuitive and regulatory compliant interfaces for advanced automotive systems. The ideal candidate will translate complex technical and human factors requirements into user-friendly design solutions while leading projects from conceptualization to market launch. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet both functional and regulatory standards within the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop user interfaces for ADAS and automated driving systems that adhere to automotive regulations (e.g., ISO26262, ISO15008, UNR171, UL4600, FMVSS).
• Perform information requirement analysis to determine the essential data for effective interface design.
• Translate complex technical requirements into accessible, functional design solutions.
• Document design processes, maintain clear specifications, and ensure effective communication with engineering, product, and regulatory teams.
• Ensure all interface designs comply with automotive regulations and standards for HMI in advanced driving systems.
• Lead design projects from the conceptual phase through to market launch.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
• At least 5 years of experience in an Interaction Design role, ideally within the automotive industry.
• Proven expertise in interface design for complex automation systems.
• A strong understanding of automotive human factors and regulatory requirements.
• Experience guiding design projects from initial concept to final product launch.
Required Skills/Experience:
• 5+ years in Interaction Design with a focus on automotive systems.
• Proficiency in using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar software.
• Deep understanding of automotive regulations and standards for HMI and ADAS.
• Strong ability to conduct information requirement analysis and translate technical requirements into user-friendly designs.
Other Skills:
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance processes for automotive interfaces.
• Excellent communication skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
Important Notes:
• Designers must have a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating engaging and accessible user interfaces within the automotive context.
• A demonstrated history of working through complex design challenges in regulated industries will be considered a significant asset.
