To maintain competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for a "Sr. Database Admin Engineer".

Job purpose:

To Implement, Create, design, administer, and monitor the performance of MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Oracle DB, and MySQL databases on All Geidea offices and Enhance, Optimize the performance of DB.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Manage and implement the DB Clustering for MSSQL -MYSQL-PostgreSQL DB.
• Lead Availability on High Availability – Clustering Strategically plan, implement, and fine-tune database level clustering, HA/DR techniques in MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL systems.
• Monitor the performance of DB (Expensive queries,) and report on metrics.
• Drive Excellence on Performance Take charge on database quality control systems, continuously tracking active queries and optimizing them, as well as implementing long-term tuning strategies for high-load applications.
• Administer, implement the MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and Mongo DB.
• Take responsibility of lifecycle and configuration standards MySQL and SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Mongo, and their databases, also standardize them.
• Perform day to day DB administration, Backup Maintenance.
• Provide database Security, Database Capacity Planning.
• Plan Reliability & Capacity Course-shift to proactively strategize measures for further business needs and driving database usage scalability.
• Implement all security measures commensurate according to PCI-DSS policies and directives and hardening of new DB.
• Apply highly sophisticated security provisions to ensure databases are properly hardened and monitored for PCI-DSS compliance alongside proprietary rules.
• Offer On-Call and Support L1, L2 Engineer as per the On-Call rotation and Fix any reported issue or and Performance degradation.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• 3-5 years of DB administration /engineering experience in Cloud, and managing production-grade databases in hybrid environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent knowledge of PCI compliance is a must.
• MCSA: SQL Database Administration, MCSE: SQL Data Management and Analytics certified
• MySQL Database Administrator, or Oracle Certified Professional is preferable.
• Strong experience in DB HA.
• Experience in managing and installing MSSQL -MYSQL-PostgreSQL DB.
• Hands-on installation, configuration, and management of MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL in complex environments.
