Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and create IBM DB2 databases based on project and client requirements.

• Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for all database-related issues.

• Design and implement database schemas, tables, and structures as needed.

• Monitor and manage regular backup processes, including supervision and verification.

• Ensure continuous, optimal performance of all database operations.

Database Monitoring and Maintenance:

1. Continuously monitor the performance and health of all databases.

2. Oversee storage utilization on IBM DB2 database servers.

3. Monitor database locks and system events.

4. Analyze diagnostic logs to identify errors and apply appropriate resolutions.

5. Manage user roles and permissions for application access (add users, modify privileges,

etc.).

6. Check tablespace availability and manage space efficiently.

7. Monitor data mirroring on replication servers.

8. Verify successful completion of database backups.

9. Archive and clean old/unused data to conserve space.

10. Monitor and resolve tablespace and table fragmentation issues.

11. Ensure optimal indexing and rebuild indexes when required.

12. Monitor and optimize report performance.

13. Conduct regular server maintenance and cleaning activities.

14. Perform table reorganizations as needed.

15. Collect and analyze user statistics for performance tuning.

16. Monitor database growth trends and plan for future capacity.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 3+ years of proven experience working with IBM DB2 databases.

• Strong experience with database performance tuning, backup strategies, and data

recovery.

• Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting complex SQL queries.

• Familiarity with database security, user access control, and encryption.

• Knowledge of database replication and high availability solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IBM Certified Database Administrator – DB2

• Experience in enterprise-level systems or government sector projects.

• Exposure to DevOps environments and automation tools is a plus.
