The IT Operations and Systems Department provides the Club’s internal and external customers with expected IT System and Services that enable business operations. The Department’s goal is to provide the Club’s IT customers with best in class IT service offerings and experience.
IT Operations and Systems serves as the primary user engagement channel for IT for help and service offerings fulfillment. Engagement is offered 24x7 via phone, email and direct on-site support.
IT Operations and Systems is the Service owner responsible for; IT Data Computing facilities; production Infrastructure platforms; Incident, Change, Problem, Resilience, Capacity, Configuration, Procurement functions; Service Assurance and Quality management; and Level 1 /2 system support functions.
The Job
You will:
Design, develop, review and maintain a comprehensive patch management strategy and practice for the overall IT operations environment
Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Cybersecurity team to review guidelines, policies, and procedures for patch management activities and ensure adherence across the organisation
Review and coordinate the deployment of patches, updates, and security fixes across all systems and infrastructure
Establish and/or enhance a standardised thorough testing process to verify the compatibility and stability of patches before deployment to production environments
Work closely with infrastructure, application, testing and operations teams to schedule and implement patching activities, and software deployment with minimal impact on business operations
Prepare detailed reports, metrics, and insights on patch compliance, and analyse vulnerability remediation progress to management and stakeholders. Regularly communicate the progress of patch management initiatives to senior leadership
Analyse patch management gaps and propose continuous improvement/remediation plans
Demonstrating system health and patching/vulnerability remediation compliance status based on predefined standards and routine maintenance of patch management
Provide support during incident response efforts related to vulnerabilities or issues arising from patching activities
Investigate and troubleshoot patch-related problems, collaborating with relevant teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Work within the change management and service management processes within IT Change Management and Implementation teams for all patch management coordination and execution
Support the production of change risk assessments planned by IT Change Management teams performing patch management and be able to present the changes to the Change Control Board (CCB)
Provide subject matter expertise on all BigFix components and modules, design, deploy and configure BigFix Solutions to manage the software deployment to endpoint devices in racecourses, Telebet centres and retail offices

About You
You should have:
University degree in computer science, engineering or related subject
At least 10 Years of experience in IT Operations and/or IT security function
8+ years of proven experience in IT patch management, patch deployment experience, or a similar role
5+ years of proven experience as a BigFix Administrator, Integrator, or in a similar role with expertise in BigFix deployment, management and integration
Strong knowledge of software patching methodologies, endpoint management and deployment tools such as HCL BigFix, SCCM, SUSE Manager and Red Hat Satellite is preferred
Experience with software discovery and reporting using BigFix Inventory
Proficient in scripting languages for automation tasks
Solid experience in managing patch management for enterprise-wide Operating Systems such as Microsoft, Linux and Microsoft SQL Server
Must understand cloud computing and IaaS services from the patch management aspect
Sound knowledge of ITIL, IT operations, project methodology and tools
Self-driven & motivated, tenacious problem solver will own issues until full resolution
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent judgement, and possess a passion for continuous learning
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Experience with JIRA
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of creating scripting or software languages, such as YAML, PowerShell
Strong knowledge of deployment tools, such as HCL BigFix
