Job Title: Senior Product Design Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to lead the design and development of plastic components and assemblies for automotive applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Catia V5, demonstrate proactive problem-solving abilities, and be comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D, 2D & Assembly Drawings:
• Design plastic components in 3D and develop 2D drawings for child parts.
• Create detailed assembly drawings with proper annotations and manufacturing considerations.
• A-Class Surface Analysis:
• Develop conceptual designs based on customer-supplied surfaces.
• Conduct feasibility studies using styling inputs within Catia V5.
• Tooling Feasibility:
• Perform draft analysis for plastic components.
• Evaluate tooling feasibility including core-cavity separation, lifter, and slider mechanisms.
• Material Study:
• Analyze and select appropriate engineering-grade plastic materials relevant to automotive applications.
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing):
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure alignment with customer requirements and engineering standards.

Candidate Profile:

Education:

• B.Tech with 6–9 years of post-qualification experience in the automotive industry
• OR Diploma (Mechanical) with 7–10 years of relevant experience

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Catia V5 (3D/2D CAD, A-Class surface modeling)
• Capable of reading and preparing comprehensive product drawings
• Skilled in creating Master Sections
• Strong knowledge of Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Good understanding of tooling feasibility, including slider and lifter mechanisms
• Experienced in DFMEA and GD&T practices
• Proficient in PLM systems (preferably Teamcenter)
• Ability to interpret FEA and Mold Flow reports
• Familiar with product testing and validation processes
