The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is seeking a Senior Director, Quality Implementation and Dissemination who will lead translational activities of the ADA Quality program portfolio. The Senior Director will oversee the execution of the quality program management life cycle, project operations, and review processes to support timely execution of deliverables. This role will lead the development, creation, implementation, and maintenance of effective program practices that support ADA’s goal to improve diabetes care.
Responsibilities include providing dissemination and implementation science expertise to existing programs, effective application of program budgets, and oversight of department project management. The Senior Director will report to the Chief Quality Officer and work collaboratively with other senior leaders in the Health Access and Quality unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Quality Officer in the development, review, dissemination, and implementation of assigned programs.
- Lead the Primary Care project pipeline which includes participation in RFAs for various grant mechanisms, assist with administrative and peer review procedures, and monitoring and support of funded grants, including progress reports.
- Support research activities, reports, and budgets for communication to program and organizational stakeholders.
- Serve as liaison between Quality with other departments regarding activities including engagement with project management and the relevant interest groups.
- Lead program optimization, maintenance of systems, and data integrity with contracted organizations.
- Lead maintenance of records and details of policies and procedures for program application and review to ensure programmatic continuity of assigned programs.
- Support communication, slide preparation, and program reporting to and funding organizations.
- Manage program operating and grant budgets, including monitoring research program expenses and budgets.
- Oversee development and maintenance of program content and review and approval of grant related content used in dissemination of primary care messaging.
- Engage in grant writing as needed to further support the efforts of the department and the ADA.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Public Health.
- 5+ years’ in Dissemination and Implementation Science.
- Knowledge of diabetes DIS with experience in primary care required.
- Ability to optimize and implement process improvements across the grant lifecycle.
- Experience implementing project management processes, procedures, and policies.
- The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently to manage multiple concurrent activities and complex grant portfolios.
- Experience in managing personnel, including direct and indirect management.
- Strong attention to detail, and proven ability to effectively manage large amounts of data and communications in an organized, timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to gain and maintain strong understanding of programs and to effectively communicate and explain them to constituents in both verbal and written form.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, the ability to interact credibly across multiple departments and divisions within the Association and externally, with professional volunteers, donors, sponsors, and constituents within the community.
