Job Summary
Quality Engineer Develops, applies, and maintains the quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
Job Responsibilities
- Analytical Problem solving/Root Cause Analyses (RCCA, 5 Why, 4-Square, Waterfalls)
- Direct contact with customers/suppliers in problem-solving capacity.
- Assist production workers who are engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality issues
- Perform statistical analyses to verify process capabilities.
- Develop Process Control Plans.
- Facilitate Process FMEA Development, calibration and perform Gage R&R Studies
- Develop Inspection methods and work with Engineering to input them to PCD.
- Thorough documentation of all activities in the QMS.
- Coordinates SPC data collection, reporting, and/or analysis as needed
- Coordinates Internal auditing team functions, scheduling, and execution
- Assist in 2 nd Party subcontractor audits and corrective actions.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the TS16949 and ISO9001 systems.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable customer, environment and safety requirements.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications (Required)
- At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
- High School diploma or GED (required at all locations)
- Knowledge/experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Previous manufacturing experience
Job Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s of Science from an accredited college
- Six Sigma Training
- APQP Training
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and auditor training
Physical Requirements Of The Job
- Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment
- Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
- Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices)
- Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials
- Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time
- Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends
