WHO YOU ARE:
An organized, self-starting, motivated Program Management Specialist (PMS) III who performs highly complex (senior level) work involving creating, developing, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing statewide programs within the VR Division.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Program Manager (PMS III) to provide leadership and direction within our Blind Services department. In this senior-level role, you will play a critical part in optimizing program outcomes and addressing service gaps for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. This requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs faced by this community, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of relevant rules and regulations pertaining to Vocational Rehabilitation and Older Individuals who are Blind programs. This role requires minimal supervision and allows for significant autonomy. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired and dedicated to providing exceptional program support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide expert guidance and consultative services to department managers on program development, implementation, and improvement, with a particular focus on ensuring programs are accessible and responsive to the needs of blind and visually impaired individuals.
* Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation and Older Individuals who are Blind programs to ensure compliance, maximize program effectiveness, and advocate for best practices.
* Plan and manage departmental resources, including budget oversight, to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.
* Identify and address gaps in services and programs for blind and visually impaired individuals, developing and implementing innovative solutions to improve outcomes.
* Supervise and mentor a team of program specialists and managers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in service delivery.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including individuals with blindness or visual impairment, advocacy groups, and community organizations, to ensure programs and services are responsive to their needs and perspectives.
* Maintain a strong understanding of budget monitoring principles and practices to ensure program activities align with financial plans and resource availability.
* Contribute to strategic planning and operational development, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals for serving the blind and visually impaired community.
* Exercise independent judgment and initiative in addressing complex challenges and opportunities within the Blind Services department.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
* Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
* Two years in an administrative management or supervisory capacity.
* Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
