Program Assistant Tracking Code: req1527 Faculty/Department: Co-op, Experiential Learning, and Career Development Office Number of Positions: 1 Appointment Type: Full-Time Continuing Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Salary Range: Level 6 - Starting Salary, Step 1 $55,534 Posting Date: March 24, 2025 Closing Date: April 4, 2025 (7:00 pm EST) JOB SUMMARY: The Program Assistant will provide administrative support, and contribute to strategies and processes that will further develop cooperative education. Acting as a key liaison with the Academic Advising department, the Program Assistant will also advise and direct students on all program matters pertaining to the co-op and internship program, as well as their academic program upon their return. Responsibilities/accountabilities: Administrative and Program Coordination: Provide administrative support to co-op programming Respond to general inquiries from students, faculty, staff, industry and community stakeholders Facilitate submission of all work reports Design surveys and facilitate coordination of meetings Coordinate offsite employer and student placement visits Program Promotion and Event Support: Assists with the creation and maintenance of promotional materials related to co-op Market and promote student participation in employment related events such as job fairs and recruitment sessions Participate in and support Open Houses and related institutional activities Student Support: Provide guidance and support to students with regards to eligibility criteria for co-op and internship programs, and provide strategies to ensure eligibility is met Education: Completion of a formal post-secondary program of three academic years A combination of education and experience may be considered Experience: Over 1 year and including 3 years Knowledge: Expert knowledge and understanding of social media platforms Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Office applications such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy and tact, professional and courteous Attention to details, organization and good planning skills Ability to work with integrity, independently and in team environment Experience with event planning and promotional marketing is an asset Excellent problem-solving skills How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit in electronic format a covering letter and their resume.
