Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing processes and leading the Production Department at our Ashland, VA facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational excellence, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong safety culture - directly impacting the efficiency, quality, and success of our operations. This position is part of the Operations/Plant Management Department located in Ashland, VA and will be on-site.
About the Role
We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing processes and manage our Production Department at our Ashland, VA facility. This leadership role ensures a safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operation while supporting our Veralto Excellence System (VES) initiatives through Standard Work, the Problem-Solving Process, and Kaizen participation.
You will provide daily leadership to the production team, manage budgets and resource allocations, drive process optimization, lead troubleshooting efforts, and champion employee development and engagement.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
* Providing leadership and managerial oversight to the production team
* Preparing and managing production budgets, schedules, and resources
* Monitoring and analyzing production KPIs and leading improvement initiatives
* Leading or supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA efforts
* Acting as Onsite Emergency Coordinator and liaising with emergency response teams
* Supporting Veralto Excellence System (VES) initiatives including Kaizen events
* Managing inventory control processes and developing long-term capital plans
The essential requirements of the job include:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field
* 2-5 years of industrial management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
* Lean Manufacturing experience and familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and be medically cleared to wear a respirator
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience in inventory management systems
What You'll Do
* Provide leadership and managerial oversight to the production team.
* Prepare and manage production budgets, schedules, and resources.
* Monitor production KPIs, analyze data, and drive improvements.
* Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA).
* Manage inventory control processes and cycle counting activities.
* Act as the Onsite Emergency Coordinator and liaison with emergency response providers.
* Assist with recruitment, hiring, and staffing within the production department.
* Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet compliance and quality standards (ISO14001, ISO9001).
* Develop long-term capital plans and oversee plant expansion projects to support operational growth.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
* 2-5 years of industrial management/supervisory experience.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
* Familiarity with QMS (Quality Management Systems) and EMS (Environmental Management Systems).
* Inventory management and forklift operation/training experience.
* Technical, analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator and perform essential physical functions, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
* CDL preferred.
Working Conditions
* 70% in a specialty chemical blending and packaging plant environment, 30% in an office setting.
* Exposure to hazardous materials and mechanical equipment; appropriate PPE (eye protection, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc.) is required.
* The noise level is occasionally loud.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus / Incentive Pay.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
