Job Objective:

The Procurement Engineer for EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning) projects is responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and documentation, preparing procurement datasheets in collaboration with project engineers, and ensuring the timely sourcing of materials and equipment in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. The role requires close coordination with engineering, vendors, and project teams to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Engineering & Documentation Review

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to determine procurement requirements.
• Assist project engineers in preparing technical datasheets, and material requirements.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

2. Procurement Planning & Sourcing

• Identify suitable vendors and suppliers based on technical evaluations and in coordination with Procurement.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) and POss.
• Ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining required quality and specifications.
• If required participate as key member in selection of vendors and evaluation of vendors.

3. Logistics & Material Management

• Track procurement schedules and maintain documentation for timely project execution.
• Ensure proper material inspection and compliance with QA/QC standards.

4. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and project-specific contractual obligations.
• Maintain procurement records, including purchase orders, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
• Assist in audits and compliance reviews as required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Civil Engineering or any related field

Professional Experience:

• 4-6 years experience in procurement within EPIC projects, preferably in oil & gas construction or shipbuilding industry
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management is an added advantage.
• Experience in vendor evaluation, supplier negotiations, and procurement processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Knowledge of international procurement standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
• Experience with supply chain logistics and expediting.
