We are seeking a Principal II, Digital Project Management to lead and drive Agile project management initiatives for our Salesforce team. This role involves project planning, process automation, and continuous performance improvement through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in facilitating Agile methodologies, utilizing productivity analytics to optimize workflows, and ensuring the effective execution of digital projects within the Salesforce ecosystem. This role will provide strategic direction for Salesforce initiatives, ensuring timely delivery aligned with business objectives.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of Salesforce-related digital projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement within the Salesforce team. Ensure teams remain focused on sprint goals and deliverables.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with cross-functional teams to plan, allocate resources, and resolve project dependencies, especially those specific to Salesforce-related tasks and integrations.
  • Capacity & Resource Planning: Oversee capacity estimation for Salesforce projects, ensuring the team can handle the workload, and adjust priorities based on project needs.
  • Productivity Tracking: Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track Salesforce project and team performance, including sprint velocity, cycle time, and lead time.
  • Team Efficiency Metrics: Monitor and analyze development KPIs such as defect rates, deployment frequency, and release success rates within the Salesforce environment to identify areas for improvement.
  • Process Bottleneck Identification: Identify inefficiencies in workflows specific to Salesforce development and recommend actionable changes to improve team performance and streamline project delivery.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data from Salesforce project tracking tools and analytics platforms to generate insights and optimize team operations, providing leadership with actionable reports.
  • Process Automation: Lead the automation of repetitive project management tasks within the Salesforce team
  • Salesforce Tool Integration: Implement and optimize development tools, including JIRA, Confluence, Copado, and Qtest, to automate workflows and improve consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement process improvements and automation techniques to reduce manual overhead, enhance Salesforce team efficiency, and accelerate project delivery.
  • Agile Mentor: Mentor and guide Salesforce team members on Agile practices, project management methodologies, and continuous improvement specific to Salesforce development. Foster a culture of self-organization, accountability, and proactive communication.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including product owners and senior leadership, ensuring alignment between Salesforce business requirements and technical deliverables.
  • Collaboration & Conflict Resolution: Encourage collaboration, resolve conflicts within the Salesforce team, and facilitate healthy, productive discussions.
  • Status Reports: Provide regular project status reports and updates for Salesforce initiatives, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress, risks, and issues.
  • Lessons Learned: Document lessons learned and retrospectives specific to Salesforce projects to drive continuous improvement in future initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CS, PSM, CBAP, PMP) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital projects, with a focus on Agile methodologies and cross-functional team leadership within Salesforce teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in productivity analytics, KPIs, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Proven success in managing large, complex Salesforce-related projects, driving digital transformation, and delivering results within fast-paced environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, CRMA, Qlik).
  • Experience with process automation and tools integration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Salesforce digital transformation projects and the latest trends in Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration for Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with diverse teams, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Change management expertise to lead process optimization and team training initiatives within the Salesforce domain.
  • Experience with Salesforce development and integrations, including understanding of Salesforce-specific tools and processes.
