As an integral member of the Network Services Team within the Technical Services and Operations arena, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Hospital's network infrastructure, with the intention of maintaining maximum availability, performance and security.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any network issues with wired and/or wireless devices independently or in collaboration with peers within the department and Hospital, escalating when necessary, working to restore normal operations
- Interface with Network Manage Service providers for network changes and requests
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, policies and procedures of the Network Services team, cabling layouts and assigned tasks or projects
- Understand and maintain knowledge of industry trends and standards
- Perform capacity planning and monitor the on-going operation of the current wired/wireless network environment
- Work on various projects in conjunction with Senior Network Analyst and other project teams and business / client representatives, which could involve the installation and configuration of new equipment
- Manage and Administer Network Monitoring System; SolarWinds and Arista Cloud Vision
- Provide network activation services and fulfill network service requests across the Hospital, including VPN services
Here's What You'll Need
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology or equivalent and/or work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in supporting LAN and WAN technologies, including both wired and wireless mediums
- Knowledge of Routing Protocols OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, BGP
- Knowledge of Switching with VLANs, STP, vPC, LACP, MLAG, VxLAN
- Knowledge of IDS/IPS, ACLs, NATs, SSL/TLS and IPSEC VPNs
- Knowledge and experience with IP networks including IPAM, DHCP, DNS
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi and 802.11 protocols, RF planning and troubleshooting
- Working experience with Avaya/Aruba//InfoBlox/Arista an asset
- Experience with conducting Root Cause Analysis on major incidents and coordinating and executing follow-up actions
- Good understanding of information security best practices
- Proven problem-solving skills, service-oriented and solution driven
- Experience with Incident, Change and Problem Management procedures, preferably in an ITIL driven environment
- Working experience of enterprise data center environments, concepts, and technologies
- Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure in solo and group scenarios with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Employment Type: On-Site required. Fulltime (35 hour/week). 2 year CONTRACT with potential for extension. Participate in afterhours, weekend On-Call rotation duty and weekend project work.
