Summary

In this role, you will play a critical part in the assembly, testing, qualification, and production of next-generation spacecraft. You will apply innovative problem-solving techniques and work with advanced technologies to address complex manufacturing challenges. As the first line of technical support on the production floor, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to quickly identify and resolve issues affecting manufacturing throughput. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing production downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support manufacturing processes for optical systems, including fiber optics and free-space optics.
  • Perform optical alignment and calibration for high-precision assemblies.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to design and improve tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues.
  • Analyze manufacturing data using basic data tools to improve process efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless product transitions from development to production.
  • Take ownership of issues and proactively drive them to resolution with minimal supervision.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven manufacturing experience in optics, including hands-on work with fiber optics, free-space optics, or optical alignment/calibration.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design documentation.
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (Excel, Python, JMP, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a self-starting attitude and a drive to take initiative.
