Job Description

As a First Line Support Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a vital role in building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft. Utilize innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology to address challenging manufacturing and engineering problems, ensuring smooth production processes. Your expertise will be pivotal in rapidly responding to technical challenges, improving factory throughput, and collaborating on structural improvement projects.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the first technical point of contact for production disturbances, resolving issues to unblock production and prevent recurrence.
* Process defective materials for engineering evaluation to determine the appropriate path forward.
* Modify shop orders to enable continuous production execution.
* Develop and enhance troubleshooting documentation for production test hardware.
Essential Skills
* Familiarity with low rate manufacturing environments and new product introduction.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and principles.
* Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, and DMAIC.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and writing skills.
* Experience with electrical system design and metrology.
* Experience in mechanical design and failure analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP software.
* Experience with NX Unigraphics or similar CAD software.
* Experience in aerospace or optical manufacturing.
* Proficiency in Python programming language.
* Experience with fiber optic systems.
* Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
* 3-8 years of relevant experience.
* BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Optics/Optical Sciences.
Work Environment
This role involves spending 75% of the time on the production floor working with technician teams to address technical challenges, and 25% on independent development work, including data analysis and documentation improvement. The position follows a 4x10 schedule, working four days a week, 10 hours a day, specifically from Wednesday to Saturday, 6am to 4:30pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $74.00/hr.
