As a First Line Support Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a vital role in building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft. Your expertise will be pivotal in rapidly responding to technical challenges, improving factory throughput, and collaborating on structural improvement projects. Responsibilities * Serve as the first technical point of contact for production disturbances, resolving issues to unblock production and prevent recurrence. * Process defective materials for engineering evaluation to determine the appropriate path forward. * Modify shop orders to enable continuous production execution. * Develop and enhance troubleshooting documentation for production test hardware. Essential Skills * Familiarity with low rate manufacturing environments and new product introduction. * Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and principles. * Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, and DMAIC. * Strong analytical skills. * Excellent communication and writing skills. * Experience with electrical system design and metrology. * Experience in mechanical design and failure analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience with SAP or similar ERP software. * Experience with NX Unigraphics or similar CAD software. * Experience in aerospace or optical manufacturing. * Proficiency in Python programming language. * Experience with fiber optic systems. * Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab. * 3-8 years of relevant experience. * BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Optics/Optical Sciences. Work Environment This role involves spending 75% of the time on the production floor working with technician teams to address technical challenges, and 25% on independent development work, including data analysis and documentation improvement. The position follows a 4x10 schedule, working four days a week, 10 hours a day, specifically from Wednesday to Saturday, 6am to 4:30pm.
