The Maintenance Supervisor oversees facility maintenance, as well as maintenance or repair of production machines and equipment used within New Berlin facility by managing staff, inventory, and repair needs.

Key Tasks

  • Perform repairs on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems, including pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems, and production machinery using hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and precision measuring devices.
  • Install functional and structural components on machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all production equipment.
  • Keep detailed maintenance records for each piece of equipment, documenting all repairs and failures to support a predictive maintenance program.
  • Monitor daily equipment performance to identify potential failures and ensure continuous operation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of skilled maintenance technicians across both shifts.
  • Identify training needs and ensure all maintenance personnel receive appropriate and documented training.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of new maintenance staff.
  • Ensure critical spare parts are maintained in inventory to support timely repairs.
  • Order parts and materials as needed to support ongoing maintenance operations.
  • Operating all machinery in a safe and efficient manner; reporting any safety hazards to the assigned supervisor or Operations Manager; complying with all safety and quality policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ensuring pest control requirements are met per ISO 13485:2016.
  • Keeping error rates minimal and within acceptable ranges; keeping director of engineering informed both verbally and in writing to the status of the plant; maintaining an efficient work pace.
  • Maintaining a good attendance record; accomplishing related results as needed; helping coordinate new projects both with labor and equipment.

Your Background

  • Associate’s degree from college or technical school or three to five years maintenance supervisor/lead experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database, activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
