Due to an upcoming retirement we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic Maintenance Team.
The primary role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to lead the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment used throughout the US Wacker facilities. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance processes and personnel in order to minimize equipment down time an improve operational equipment effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisor Functions:
- Support department initiatives and continuous improvement that align with our company strategy and key performance metrics
- Responsible for problem solving day to day issues and escalating challenges to management in the areas of safety, quality, production, personnel and other resource availability (i.e. technology, financial, physical)
- Responsible for gathering and delivering information in a timely manner while ensuring communication is understood by all direct reports
- Provides constructive feedback to all subordinates and holds employees accountable. May provide feedback to manager for performance reviews
- Leads by example and demonstrates the company's core values of expertise, passion, agility and entrepreneurship
- Treats all levels of the organization with respect, honesty, and integrity while supporting diversity, inclusion, compliance, and safety of all employees
Machine Maintenance:
- Leads Maintenance Technicians in predictive & preventative maintenance and repair of various building and production systems
- Responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day supervision of maintenance systems, processes and documentation associated with efficient and High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOP’s, Safety, etc.)
- Ensures maintenance is scheduled in a timely manner and works closely with Production to schedule and accomplish equipment and facility repairs
- Provides long-term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
- Coordinate with manufacturing to complete necessary work with minimal disruption to operations
General Maintenance:
- Coordinate and work effectively with outside contractors as needed for maintenance work as well as capital project work
- Initiate and manage capital projects, as well as coordinate and work effectively with Project Engineering on new capital projects
Reporting:
- Develops and/or maintains Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, 3rd party contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.)
Safety:
- Performs all job functions is a safe manner and maintains safety awareness
- Uses appropriate channels Reports known accidents, injuries and unsafe practices and/or conditions.
- Participate in safety team
Required Skills:
Qualifications: Additional years of experience or education may be substituted for each other as determined by Human Resources.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant related work experience.
- A minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of powder paint systems. Knowledge of power and free conveyor, automated wash system, parts blaster and powder booths a key plus
- Knowledge of distribution machinery, automated conveyors, VLM’s and preventative maintenance methods and techniques and skills in identifying equipment malfunctions and safety hazards preferred
- Basic knowledge of commercial or industrial plumbing and electrical systems structural heating and A/C and refrigeration systems
Physical Demands and or Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (50 lbs.), and an ability to adjust vision for close vision work. Up to 100% of time spent in manufacturing environments around industrial equipment, and ability to walk and/or stand throughout an 8 hour day. Able to travel up to 5% to other Company locations.
