Position Summary

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating and managing catering sales opportunities, building strong client relationships, and ensuring the seamless execution of events. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, event coordination, and customer service skills to meet and exceed revenue targets while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect and build relationships with clients, event planners, and other potential sources of business.
  • Respond to inquiries for catering services, provide quotes, and negotiate terms to secure business.
  • Work closely with clients to plan, customize, and execute events, ensuring all details are managed from concept to completion.
  • Oversee event logistics, including menu selection, layout, staffing, and equipment requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with kitchen, service staff, and other departments to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent phone skills, customer service oriented and proactive. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Has an upbeat, energetic, authentic and professional attitude at all times.
  • Resolve customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests
  • Responds to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Expert in Sales and representation of the hotel, along with excellent knowledge of all facets of the property.
  • Attend meetings with all levels of the team as needed in accordance with the advised meeting schedules.
  • Ensure operational compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of similar sales management capacity and previous hospitality industry experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • California Food Handlers Card
