About the Role:

Manage, lead and direct the Special Assets Department (SAD). Develop strategies, policies and procedures to resolve and/or restructure problem commercial loans through a workout process, bankruptcy, litigation, foreclosure and/or liquidation of collateral.

  • Responsible for ensuring commercial workouts, collections and charge-off accounts are handled appropriately. Provides advice and guidance to lending officers on non-special asset accounts.
  • Supervise functional group level managers in the commercial workout, foreclosures/recovery, small business lending collections, operations and other real estate owned sales.
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures to resolve and/or restructure problem commercial loans through a workout process, bankruptcy, litigation, foreclosure and/or liquidation of collateral.
  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel in the mitigation of legal matters, as necessary.
  • Prepare management reports, incentive compensation plans and budgets, as required.
  • Responsible for overseeing the disposition of bank Other Real Estate Owned (OREO) collateral.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job -specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Bank’s written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
  • Master’s Degree desired.
  • 7-10 years of experience in credit and financial analysis in, preferably in a commercial lending environment.
  • 7-10 years of experience managing or leading a team, specifically related to Special Assets.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial lending and credit management.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and develop others in a quantitative and operational process setting.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, negotiation, decision making, problem solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in creating and implementing banking policies, procedures, practices and documentation.
  • Proven ability to drive results in a team oriented, goal driven environment and partner with other leadership to maximize results.
  • Possess strong analytical, negotiation, problem solving, interpersonal, and public relations skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Word, Excel and Access preferred. Possess the ability to quickly learn in-house software.
  • Advanced knowledge of bankruptcy, litigation, foreclosure of personal and real property and disposition of repossessed collateral

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $115,000 to $160,000, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
