Universal Machine Company in Pottstown, PA is a leading designer and manufacturer of turnkey integrated systems and custom equipment for pharmaceutical bio-tech and medical product companies. An electrical engineering position is available requiring a minimum of 5 years experience in PLC programming, Project Management, Control System Design, Servo Motion Control, SCADA systems, AutoCAD and site installation. PRINCIPAL JOB/POSITION DUTIES/ACTIVITIES. 1. Perform engineering studies as per instruction. 2. Develop Machine Power Distribution Schematics. 3. Develop Machine Input/Output Schematics. 4. Request quotes from vendors for commercial items. 5. Create and maintain bills of material of electrical components. 6. Develop Machine Control Panel Layouts. 7. Develop Machine Control Software and Programming. 8. Generate Machine Service Manuals and Documentation. 9. Release required documents to Manufacturing for assembly. 10. Program industrial control components, including Programmable Logic Controllers, Operator Interface Components, Motion Control Drives, Signal Interface Components, Vision Detection System, and SCADA Data Acquisition Systems. 11. Integrate electrical components. 12. Support start-up and/or training at customer site. 13. Design circuits for upgrades to existing automated machinery and associated equipment. 14. Assist with the quotation of new projects. 15. Follow ISO documentation as required. 16. Expected to work overtime when required to meet our customer’s deadlines. 17. Perform other duties as assigned and directed. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR JOB/POSITION: Good technical and conceptual skills for machinery control. Good organization and communication skills. Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and UL 508A. Knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley). Knowledge of AutoCAD.
