Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement electrical control systems while working closely with project teams to ensure efficient and reliable operation of automated systems. This role is critical in optimizing performance and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems for automation projects.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs to control manufacturing processes.
- Create and review control system schematics and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UL508 and NEC standards in all designs and implementations.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on machine design, integrating electrical and pneumatic components effectively.
- Lead the testing and validation of control systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Maintain and update bill of materials for electrical components and systems.
- Support and train staff on the operation of new control systems and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer with a strong focus on electrical systems.
- Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming languages.
- Knowledge of UL508, NEC, and relevant safety standards.
- Experience with motion controls, pneumatic control systems, and vision systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design and layout of control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
