Summary

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing processes, focusing on Factory Information Systems (FIS). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define control system requirements and specifications. Develop and maintain FIS software and hardware to optimize manufacturing processes. Monitor and troubleshoot control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Conduct regular maintenance and updates of control systems to enhance efficiency and productivity. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system design, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides. Provide technical support and training to production staff on FIS controls and systems. Implement and maintain data collection and analysis tools to support continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in all control systems. Stay current with advancements in control systems technology and industry best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Controls Specialist, Automation Engineer, or similar role in the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of Factory Information Systems (FIS) and manufacturing control systems. Proficiency in programming languages and software used in control systems (e.g., PLC, HMI, SCADA). Experience with data collection, analysis tools, and software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Certification in controls engineering or related field. The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $23.11/hour - $36.12/hour.
