Our client, a midsize natural gas utilities infrastructure organization located in West Austin, is searching for a Controller to join the accounting team. The company operates throughout Texas and is experiencing tremendous growth! They have a fantastic accounting team and a great company culture! This is a hybrid opportunity, working from home every Monday and Friday.

Job Duties:

• Direct all aspects of the accounting function, oversee all transactions related to general ledger, billing, receivables and payables
• Drive process improvements and develop efficiencies in financial operations
• Manage the month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Design, implement and maintain system of internal controls to ensure safeguarding of Company assets and accurate financial statements
• Design, implement and maintain an annual budgeting process that incorporates key management in the process and delivers credible, timely budgets
• Work with field and administrative personnel to analyze monthly financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets
• Aid in the preparation of the monthly financial statements and reporting packets for stakeholders and regulators
• Plan and manage year-end audit
• Oversee the tax reporting for franchise taxes, Texas Gross Receipts Tax, sales taxes, and property taxes
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA required
• Master's degree is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
