Summary

1st shift - 7:30am-4:00pm Monday – Friday

$22.00-$32.00 Per hour Based on experience and skill level

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines – including program setup and running operations. (Mazak, DMG/Mori) 
  • Program complex parts for CNC multi-axis lathes & mills (Use of G-code and/or conversational programming on Mazak lathes & mills) 
  • Develop machine set-ups and program edits, ensuring programs are organized and preserved  
  • Understand geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)  
  • Read and interpret 2-D shop prints  
  • Select proper tooling for production and manufacturing 
  • Work with tolerances to +/- .001” 
  • Maintain highest levels of quality – as specified by customer requirements 
  • Inspect parts using a variety of equipment: micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, other as needed 
  • Demonstrate forward thinking to anticipate and avoid problems, and effectively trouble-shoot and resolve any problems that do arise  
  • Work with minimal supervision, but also engage productively within a team environment 
  • Update job paperwork, keeping it accurate and organized  
  • Use electronic Job Tracking system to ensure job status remains accurate and up-to-date 
  • Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on machines as required per M/M schedules 
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary and appropriate 

               

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXERIENCE:   

  • Extensive knowledge of machining and strong machining skills 
  • 5 years’ experience turning and set-up on CNC Lathes/Mills 
  • Medium to high level of experience with tools and inserts 
  • Experience in inspection of machined parts 
  • Trigonometry & Blueprint literacy 

 

EDUCATION LEVEL:   

  • High School (or equivalent) with Technical School  
  • Programming education/certification required 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Standing - Routinely   
  • Sitting – Occasionally 
  • Bending/Stooping/Pushing/Pulling – Occasionally 
  • Lifting under or over 10 lbs. or more – Routinely  
  • Carrying under or over 10 lbs. or more – Occasionally 
  • Reading documents – Routinely

 

REQUIRED MATERIALS: 

  • Steel toe safety footwear - company allowance 
  • Standard safety glasses w/side shields – company provides 
  • Prescription safety glasses must be approved by OSHA standard and have side shields
