Your contribution!

Reporting to the Director Civil and Structural Engineering, you will be supporting the development, construction and operation teams on matters relating to civil engineering with focus on wind and solar technologies.

Your day-to-day!

During Development Phase

  • Bring solar and wind projects expertise to development phase, preliminary layout, access road design, laydown and substation areas;
  • Support tender processes, tender development, proposal analysis and recommendations (preliminary design, geotechnical desktop, hydrological assessment, road design, etc.);
  • Provide civil technical inputs to contracts.


During Pre-construction And Construction Phase

  • Provide reviews of specifications and documentation for EPC contracts and/or engineering consultants;
  • Review civil designs and studies related to the project;
  • Ensure the link with other technical disciplines, in particular the environment and occupational health and safety on various subjects;
  • Review and approve drawings submitted to ensure all engineering and construction standards and safety codes are met;
  • Provide construction site engineering support including inspection and monitoring of civil installation;
  • Respond to requests for information (RFIs), review and approve submittals;
  • Coordinate engineering activities and manage engineering consultants’ scope of work, budget and schedule.


During Operation Phase

  • Oversee civil aspect of facilities maintenance or upgrade in respect with documentation, specifications and safety codes;
  • Provide review of specifications and documentation for engineering consultants support;
  • Support operation groups for continuous improvements of procedures and work instructions;
  • Site visits (Quebec/Ontario/BC/USA);
  • Coordinate and manage engineering consultants/experts and their engineering deliverables, as needed;
  • Interface with other technical disciplines, project management, construction, accounting and finance teams as necessary through all phases of assigned projects.


Your skills, our requirements!

  • Degree in civil engineering
  • P.E./P.Eng.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in civil engineering with focus on development and construction phases of wind and solar assets;
  • Knowledge of civil designs and standards for renewable energy industry with advance expertise and experience with wind and solar projects development and construction phases
  • Great ability to work in a dynamic environment where priorities change quickly, strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Enthusiastic, professional, and confident personality with a focus on a customer success and team player attitude
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and interact with various stakeholders
  • Desire to learn in a multitude of opportunities and projects with experienced people
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.


Additional considerations!

  • The position is based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters, a few steps from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
  • This position is a P3 level.
