Summary

Introduction Are you a master student in Physics, Engineering or a related field looking for an apprentice internship? Do you have knowledge of dynamic modeling and FEM and have affinity with experimental techniques? Then this internship might be interesting for you! Background information In the Delft office of ASML, we are developing an innovative multi-beam (many hundreds beam) scanning electron microscope (SEM) for in-line wafer inspection. It is essential for our customers that the SEM provides high quality images on all the beams. To ensure that quality, we need to monitor various image parameters, and use some of these parameters to adjust the microscope settings. Both actions require to efficiently extract the image parameters, and efficiently analyze the data from all the beams. Your assignment The purpose of the internship is to contribute to creating and optimizing algorithms for image and data analysis generated by the first ever prototype of this new SEM. The intern will be part of a team working on integrating the new prototype, and will study and implement algorithms to calculate parameters such as image sharpness, resolution, distortion, brightness, uniformity, and contribute to use these parameters to understand how the SEM is behaving and improve its performance. Your Profile To be a perfect match for this internship, you: Are a master student in Physics, Engineering or a related field. Have experience with programming (preferably in Python). Have experience with modeling physical problems and affinity with data analysis. Have a hands-on mentality with a proactive attitude. Have strong communication skills and are fluent in English both verbally and in writing. This is a master apprentice internship with a duration of a minimum of 6 months, for 4-5 days a week, starting January/February 2025 Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of the internship.
