About the Role

ALTEN Netherlands is seeking a driven and technically strong Software Requirements Engineer with a background in physics or optics, ideally with experience in control systems. In this role, you will be instrumental in connecting technical insights to actionable software requirements, contributing to the development of advanced high-tech systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the interface between stakeholders and software development teams.
• Elicit, define, and manage software requirements.
• Translate complex technical and user needs into structured, traceable specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including software, physics, and systems engineering.
• Take ownership of the full requirements life cycle, contributing to integration and system-level understanding.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor, Master’s or PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Control Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in requirements engineering or system-level design.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to abstract and structure technical complexity.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge gaps between disciplines.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) is advantageous.
