Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager (EV) is responsible for driving growth in the electric vehicle sector by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing brand presence. This role involves both strategic planning and execution, working closely with sales, marketing, technical, and after-sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve sales targets in the EV segment.
Identify new business opportunities, including dealership expansion, B2B sales, and fleet partnerships.
Conduct market research to understand trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, dealers, government stakeholders, and fleet operators.
Collaborate with marketing and product teams to support product launches, promotions, and campaigns.
Evaluate new markets and potential partnerships, including charging infrastructure providers.
Monitor regulatory developments and incentives related to EVs and integrate them into the business strategy.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, business proposals, and pitches for new clients.
Track performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
Lead negotiations and close deals with key clients and partners.
Job Specification
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Experience:
5–6 years of experience in business development or sales in the automobile sector.
At least 2 years of focused experience in the electric vehicle segment (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of the EV ecosystem, market dynamics, and regulatory framework.
Proven track record in achieving sales targets and developing new business.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office Suite, and sales reporting.
