Summary

Robert Half is partnering with a growing software company to add a Assistant Controller to their team. This is a full time opportunity with a growing company.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Ledger Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely entries.
  • Maintain chart of accounts and ensure proper classifications of transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  1. Reconciliations:
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and alignment with company policies.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  1. Budget-to-Actual Analysis:
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing variances between budgeted and actual financial results.
  • Collaborate with management teams to provide insights on variances and recommendations for corrective actions.
  1. Financial Statements:
  • Prepare internal financial reports, supporting external reporting when needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Ensure financial documentation is appropriately maintained for audits.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and workflows.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements.
  1. Compliance and Internal Control:
  • Support adherence to company policies and industry standards.
  • Assist in the development and execution of internal controls to mitigate risk.
  1. Team Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and external teams.
  • Provide mentorship to junior finance staff and support ongoing training efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting guidelines.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • High degree of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Experience in budget analysis and forecasting.
