Summary

The Assistant Accounting Manager will support the Accounting Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This role will help ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with internal controls, and guide a team of accounting staff in executing key finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Monitor compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support the Accounting Manager in coordinating with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting tasks completed by junior staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to accounting analysts and help ensure team performance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives and provide financial insights as needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, with some exposure to team supervision or mentoring.
  • Solid knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; ERP experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
