This role is VP / CTO of Engineering for the entire portfolio of product. This is a direct line manager role, they will be responsible technically and architecturally for the technical direction of the entire Product Portfolio and the squads/teams in Engineering. For this specific role they are looking for an innovator, someone who has a track record of leveraging new, cutting-edge technology and ideally supported via AI/LLM. They want someone who can inspire change and adoption from the team.

• Conceptualize and develop innovative AI-powered solutions that are highly differentiated in the market
• VP Engineering focused on:
• Quality – bugs created, incidents recorded (sorted by severity), reliability metrics, uptime & scaling validation
• Velocity – sprint-level features shipped, aggregate code output, developer experience (cycle time from creation of change to deployment)
• Cost – payroll cost, contractor costs, cloud spend (split by service), tooling spend
• People – hiring versus plan, funnel metrics (including offer acceptance rate), candidate NPS & attrition.
• Compliance – what is their need

Minimum Technical Requirements:

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, AI, or related field
• Tech leader – obsessed re technology
• Knows end to end architectures
• Has cycled through building architectures, product and road maps multiple times
• Expertise in LLMs, transformers, and state-of-the-art NLP techniques, and experience using LLM providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, etc

Leadership skills:

• Experience with explainable AI and model interpretability
• Autonomy
• Tenure and experience to know who to hire and they will follow
• Lead to team build faster and execute
• Vision of business next 3 months, 6 months & 9 months
• Able to articulate what problems are and create set of actions to address problems
• Talk through what metrics that they are going to track, ideally even circle metrics back to revenue if possible
