Summary
The Training Operations role will support the Talent Development team by organizing and promoting development programs that help employees and leaders grow, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively. This role will help deliver engaging training sessions - from new hire orientation to leadership and soft skill workshops - for teams across regions and functions like Sales and Marketing. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to navigate group dynamics, connect content to real workplace context, and ensure participants are set up to apply what they've learned. This role also involves tracking progress, managing program schedules, and supporting key operational activities behind the scenes.
This role is based at our Headquarters in McLean, VA. Appian was built on a culture of in-person collaboration, which we believe is a key driver of our mission to be the best. Duties/Responsibilities:
* Engage in project-based work and daily tasks to gain comprehensive insights into each function.
* Attend training sessions, workshops, and mentorship meetings to build foundational skills related to Talent Development.
* Work with team members across the Talent Development team to support company-wide people initiatives.
* Partner with colleagues to identify process improvements and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Talent Development team
* Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to training, development and onboarding.
* Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership.
* Collaborate with mentors and supervisors on various projects and initiatives.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different functions.
* Flexible and able to adjust to new challenges and environments.
* Focuses on accuracy and thoroughness in tasks.
* Takes initiative and demonstrates a willingness to contribute.
* Organizational and time management skills.
* Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
