Technical Writer

This is a 6-month, full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid contract role located in Austin, TX. The hybrid schedule is Tues–Thurs on-site, Mon & Fri work from home.

Summary

We're seeking a Technical Writer to support internal firmware development teams by organizing, editing, and publishing technical content to enhance the developer experience. This role is essential in scaling the team’s internal documentation, streamlining knowledge-sharing, and driving clarity across multiple stakeholders and technical partners.

• 2–5 years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or developer-facing content
• Passion for clear communication with a strong foundation in technical content creation
• Proficient in technical writing and publishing tools, with strong content editing and organization skills
• Familiar with software development, firmware concepts, and operating systems
• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional technical teams and developers
• Able to work independently and manage multiple content projects simultaneously
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder feedback
• Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail

Job Description

In this role, you will transform raw technical content into structured, user-friendly documentation. You’ll partner with firmware developers and internal engineering teams to gather information and publish accurate, accessible content. This includes editing and organizing content across multiple teams, digitizing diagrams, and incorporating feedback from client teams to continuously improve documentation. You will also help maintain internal content tools and contribute to a consistent documentation strategy—supporting the team’s overall knowledge-sharing and efficiency.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• Background in technical writing, content development, or documentation for technical products
• Experience in firmware, engineering, or developer documentation is a plus

The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $58.00 – $61.00 per hour
