Step into the role
As a Technical Sales Manager you work closely with a number of existing customers, supporting them in making the best possible use of our products, teaching them about our capabilities, and offering them competitive prices that help their projects become great. You are also responsible for bringing in new customers by showing them our rugged products, our development and customization capabilities, our support, organization, and ultimately why our company is the right strategic partner for them. To succeed in this role, you need to be knowledgeable about our products, IT in general, the types of customizations we offer, and the applications where our solutions are used.
MilDef works with some of the world’s largest defense companies, as well as end users, senior military officers, and the DoD in select markets. Our contacts range from engineers to executives, and being able to engage effectively at all levels is essential. We meet our customers on their terms, with no prestige, and always with the ambition to help them be successful. Your role in making that happen is key.
Our Technical Sales Managers spend a lot of time with customers, so the job includes a fair amount of travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing key accounts / customers.
- Finding and developing new customers.
- Promoting MilDef products and services.
- Making sure sales activities are in line with our targets and goals.
- Responsible for sales activities to be carried out in accordance with our guidelines.
- Working with our CRM system to always maintain correct information about our business opportunities.
- Participating and contributing to exhibitions where MilDef takes part.
- Feeding back market information to corporate.
What You Bring
- Proven track record developing opportunities within U.S. DoD Programs of Record
- Strong knowledge of IT technology (computers, routers, switches, etc).
- Education in computers, engineering, economics or relevant field.
- A strategic, business-oriented mindset with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of U.S. DoD Acquisition Planning Process and FAR/DFAR within the contracting process.
- Experience with C4ISR integration onto ground vehicles, other platforms.
- Knowledge of existing/emerging Tactical IT architecture standards; e.g., MOSA, CMOSS, et al.
- Solid connections with relevant military and defense industry networks.
- A military background is considered a very valuable experience.
