This important role will provide administrative functions for database servers, including installation, upgrade, backup, restore, performance monitoring, and tuning. They provide a high degree of coordination between user, technical, application, and corporate entities to ensure effective data administration as a corporate enterprise. To be successful in this role you must possess: * Several years (5+ preferred) of experience in the design, administration, programming, and support of RDBMSs in one or more computing environments. * Several years (5+ preferred) of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) in one or more environments is highly desirable or strong, demonstrated DBA skills earned in equivalent experience. * Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure situations and complex environments. * Demonstrated experience working as part of operations and/or development teams. * Experience hardening databases against web vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate would also have experience in: * Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server various versions/editions. * Thorough understanding of Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances. * Full knowledge of ANSI SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code. * Thorough understanding of the relational normalized and dimensional database modeling and solid theoretical knowledge of relational and dimensional database techniques; ability to see the big picture, conceptualize, and document creative solutions. * Deployment, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning, security, and identity and access management techniques for SQL Server and Azure SQL. * Proficiency in tools such as SSMS, Quest Spotlight/Foglight, Azure Portal, PowerShell. Experience in the following is a plus: Azure DMA, SqlPackage, Azure Data Studio, YAML pipelines, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, SSDT, or DbUp. * Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: BC-DR and high-availability architectures, data warehousing, dimensional modeling, Windows, Linux, and similar.
