Job Title: Senior System Administrator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of our organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with system administration, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of our IT systems. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization, cloud environments, and storage solutions.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system functionality.
Manage and maintain system security, including access controls, patch management, and endpoint protection.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, ensuring prompt resolution of system-related issues and inquiries.
Evaluate and implement system technologies and solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and best practices.
Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patching to keep systems up to date.
Oversee and support disaster recovery planning and execution.
Maintain accurate system documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior administrators and IT staff.
Work with vendors and service providers to procure and manage IT-related services and equipment.
Conduct system capacity planning and recommend upgrades as necessary.
Develop and enforce policies related to system usage, access, and security.
Automate system tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
Respond to system outages and security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Assist users with software installations, updates, and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal disruptions to productivity.
Stay updated with the latest IT trends, security threats, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in system administration, with at least 2 years in a senior-level role.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and server management.
Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade storage, virtualization, and cloud solutions.
Proficiency in managing system security tools such as endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and their management.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Industry certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.

Experience working in a high-availability, mission-critical environment.
Work Environment:

May require after-hours support and participation in on-call rotations.
