Job Title: Survey Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Survey Technician with experience in MicroStation and OpenRoads to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing survey data and assisting in the design and development of civil engineering projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure the accuracy and quality of survey deliverables.
Responsibilities
* Process and analyze survey data using MicroStation and OpenRoads software to create accurate maps and models.
* Prepare detailed survey maps, plats, and reports that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Work closely with a Registered Professional Surveyor to ensure survey data is integrated seamlessly into project designs and plans.
* Maintain and organize survey equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly calibrated.
* Ensure all survey activities comply with industry standards, local regulations, and company policies.
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide responsive service, including managing budgets and schedules for client delivery.
* Assist in fieldwork as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support team efforts.
Essential Skills
* Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience with MicroStation.
* Strong in field surveys and data processing.
* Strong understanding of surveying principles and practices.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* High School Graduation, with some college preferred.
* Experience in AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center is preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Methodical and consistent approach to work.
Work Environment
Working out of the Arlington office, the survey team consists of about 5 to 6 members. The company offers a stable workflow that is diversified between municipal, private land development, surveying, and DOT projects. The environment fosters strong bonds between different branches, enhancing collaboration and support.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
