The Information Management & Technology (IMT) division is seeking student assistants to assist our web technology team on various projects that will focus on either writing new content or creating, modifying and reinterpreting web content visually with a focus on web accessibility requirements. The SWAT team model is an initiative within Upstate Medical Universitys Information Management & Technology (IMT) department that welcomes currently enrolled college students to join us to work on large-scale or interdepartmental projects working underneath the supervision of an IMT supervisor. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to put their academic experiences into practice in a professional setting that reflects the post-graduate workplace. Our student assistant positions offer experiential learning initiatives and a range of transferable skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a matriculated student in an undergraduate or graduate program.
Preferred Qualifications
Sample IT skills we may be looking for: Strong writing skills, understanding of SEO principles, information gathering and organization skills, HTML and CSS experience, web-based design, UI/UX, website accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards) and interpreting page data reports to identity and remediate problematic content. Looking for candidates that can work both collaboratively and independently.
