Position: Structural Design Engineer

We are looking to add an energetic and talented Structural Engineer to our team. We offer the opportunity to collaborate with in-house engineers and architects while working on a variety of projects. Design, team leadership, and project leadership with opportunity to grow and advance within the organization. As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will:

Be involved in the structural design process for vertical construction, renovation, and replacement projects from concept through to completion

Being capable of assisting clients with structural projects in their local office/region with the support of senior structural engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to assist with building roof and wall structure enclosure engineering designs and problem resolution
  • Prepare associated calculations, analysis, and reports
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements and
  • Perform structural engineering design and drawing (plans, details, sections) in AutoCAD and REVIT -- including building renovations and new construction
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and progress
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed and some travel when necessary
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on vertical building design
  • Structural building design experience with AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or similar
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations, including ASCE 7, IBC, TMS, NDS, and ACI
  • Experience with steel, concrete, and composite material design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel within the southeast USA and nationally to go on job sites and ability to go on to US military and other Govt. sites
  • Self disciplined, hard working, customer service oriented and ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset for a leadership position
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check required
  • Valid drivers license required
