SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:

Participate in design reviews, design verification and validation, monitor results and drive risk ensuring Product/Software meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required. Assures quality Products/Software and Processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards, testing, materials controls thru trends analysis, risk identification, uses of tools and data. Passionate with Technical Hands-On activity (Hardware/Manufacturing) and be responsible for ensuring product launch timely with best quality and processes in place in Manufacturing.


Establishes the quality strategy, gains support, prioritize and leads execution of the strategy. Prepare and present/update regularly on the project quality status. Act as a role model leading and driving continuous improvement and standardization of best practices in the organization to achieve best-in-class quality by moving quality to the left. Support the organization Quality Management System.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Functional:

  • Create the end-to-end Product/Software quality strategy for the assigned product lines, NPI, continuation Engineering, customer anomaly management, & Continuous Improvement Projects to successful execution.
  • Effectively apply technical or professional skills within the context of one's role in providing design input, proposes risk mitigation actions together with product development team ensuring highest quality/robustness design on the Product and Process Quality.
  • Identify and manage Critical-To-Quality (CTQ’s) parameters and contribute ideas for innovation and continuous improvement on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide technical support in engineering design/code review, drawing and specification review to drive risk mitigation ensuring product meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required.
  • Applies and advocate the use of quality design methodologies, Quality and APQP tools and techniques (e.g. Design for Six Sigma, Design for Reliability, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, etc.) throughout product development to drive robustness in Product and Process Quality.
  • Influence and Implement lessons learned in other/new products, respectively new or running projects.
  • Uses reliability engineering principles and tools to develop test setups for Reliability Laboratory testing to support projects requirement. Responsible to design, procure, plan and execute and report out reliability testing such as HALT or ORT test.
  • Conduct troubleshooting of module or reliability setup if anomaly are observed.
  • Perform hands-on product electrical circuit and mechanical failure analysis and able to apply failure analysis procedures to identify the failure location and the root causes.
  • Leads Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and ensures corrective and preventive action planning, addresses true and systemic root cause with various functions/stakeholders to drive resolution.
  • Ensures quality and manufacturing process readiness before start of mass production to attain a flawless launch.
  • Drive and own preventive quality assurance during development and industrialization setup.
  • Support audits of products, Quality System Procedures, Operating and work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001 Quality system requirements.
  • When standard procedures do not apply, use judgment and draw on past experience to interpret information, solve routine problems and/or recommend approaches.
  • Contribute ideas for innovation and continuous improvement on an ongoing basis focusing on activities that add values and increase efficiencies.
  • Recognize/anticipate barriers to completing assigned work/projects.

Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. For those with supervisory responsibilities: Trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Advanced statistical experience with quality tools usage and Product Design Development Cycle is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience with experience in a Quality and Design function, in an Electronics/Software Development Environment.
  • Experiences in auditing to the requirement of ISO 9001 quality system standards in an electronic- manufacturing company; IEC64223 and other related governing standards as applicable.
  • Certified Design for Six Sigma/Six Sigma Black Belt/Reliability Engineer will have an added advantage.
  • Experience in HW Product Design and Manufacturing Processes from Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Electronics Industry will have an added advantage.
  • Must have a broad technical background with the ability to work with engineering, manufacturing, service, and suppliers across a wide variety of issues as well as internationally.
  • Good understanding of Electronic Manufacturing, Assembly and Test processes.
