A successful candidate would have thin film process development experience with industrial/fab scale ALD process tools. A strong educational background & foundation in the materials science of thin films, and a proven track record in industrial scale thin film process development are essential. Team working skills, tenacity, ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities, ability to deal with uncertainties inherent in a fast-moving R&D environment, great planning and communication skills, are some other qualities we profoundly value at the start-up.

Skills, strength and proven competencies:

• Demonstrated track record of developing industry-scale thin film deposition process technologies
• Expert in all aspects of ALD deposition and thin film characterization. Candidates with experience of multi-component film deposition are highly desired.
• Understanding of industry-standard ALD 300mm hardware and process-hardware correlations. Ability to identify critical ALD tool hardware requirements for process optimization.
• Experience with common thin-film & chemical characterization & metrology techniques including: Optical microscopy, SEM, TEM, XRD, Ellipsometry, XPS / AES as well as ICP-MS, particle analysis, sheet resistance probe analysis etc.
• Solid understanding of Design-of-Experiments execution and statistical data analysis.
• Ability to engage with customers/vendors/partners both on a highly technical basis and personally.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented with high commitment to work quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a close-knit team environment is essential.
• Ambition to develop world-changing technologies is highly desired!

Desired Experience and Education:

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or other related areas of science.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in ALD (atomic layer deposition), and/or PEALD (plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition)
• 2 + years of experience working in 300mm Silicon-fab-scale R&D particularly desired.

*The US, California salary will be based on a number of factors including level and will vary depending on knowledge, skills and experience; $140,800 - $189,200
