We have an urgent contract opening for a Senior Integration & Development Test Engineer in Kirkland, WA. This role focuses on environmental and electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing of aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Support environmental and electromagnetic interference testing of aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution equipment in the APC department
Prepare and review test procedures and reports for aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution equipment.
Support DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 testing on aerospace electrical power equipment.
Develop and review development and qualification test procedures for environmental and EMI tests on development aircraft electrical power equipment.
Generate test fixture designs to support environmental and EMI tests of aircraft equipment.
Prepare and review environmental and EMI test procedures, using DO-160, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 as guidance, for new aircraft electrical power equipment designs, perform tests, and document results from lab testing.
Develop custom test equipment designs and drawings to enable successful tests of aircraft electrical power equipment.
Analyze and solve a diverse variety of EMI test related technical problems through use of test data and specification requirements. Organize and analyze data and document results. Review results to ensure their accuracy and appropriateness.
Support environmental and EMI development testing, troubleshooting, and formal testing using custom test equipment and standard lab test equipment. Support our client's in-house EMI lab operations and processes. Define standard and custom test equipment to support problem discovery and isolation.
Prepare and present technical information of diverse scope for internal and external engineers, program personnel, and other internal and external customers.
Acts as an individual contributor, building stable working relationships internally through tasks and assignments.
Guide technicians and operators in performing system integration and unit level development test and custom test equipment builds.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of total engineering experience, with at least three (3) years specifically within the aerospace/aviation industry. This is a senior level role, so emphasize the need for significant relevant experience.
Extensive experience integrating and testing aircraft electrical power distribution systems, both on aircraft and in a lab environment.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and monitor a variety of serial data buses, avionics systems, and industry standard communication protocols used in aircraft
Solid understanding of and experience supporting DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 testing on aerospace electrical power equipment. They must be able to prepare and review test procedures and reports based on these standards and support the testing process.
Experience in developing and reviewing development and qualification test procedures for environmental and EMI tests on development aircraft electrical power equipment.
Demonstrated ability to generate test fixture designs to support environmental and EMI testing of aircraft equipment.
Experience with the usage of PC-controlled test equipment and instrumentation and data logging equipment and sensors.
Proficiency in MS Excel (charting, formulas), Word, PowerPoint, and 2D drawing packages.
Strong skills in preparing and presenting technical information to both internal teams and external customers.
Key Technologies/Standards: DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, EMI testing, environmental testing, aircraft electrical power systems, serial data buses, avionics, PC-controlled test equipment, instrumentation, data logging.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Experience with FAA Part 23 or 35 certification testing.
Knowledge of electrical wiring definition for both aircraft and test equipment.
Experience supporting in-house EMI lab operations and processes.
Ability to define standard and custom test equipment for problem discovery and isolation.
Experience using JIRA for requesting IT-related services.
Experience guiding technicians and operators in performing tests and building custom test equipment.

Job Type: Contract
Location: Kirkland, WA.
Pay Range: $50-$75/hr.
Candidates must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a pre-employment background screen and drug test, which includes screening for cannabis use.
