What To Expect
We are working on a state-of-the-art data engineering and analytics platform for business and operation intelligence that is completely home grown. At Tesla we have enormous amounts of data, and our team gives meaning to it. We intend this data to be easily accessed by our users so they can make data driven decisions. Our platform will allow users to answer "what", "when" and "how" questions as well as allow them to understand, "what if". The BI developer will help onboarding analytics use cases on this platform and provide analytics consultancy to critical business operations.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze enterprise business data and generate impactful insights to drive process improvements
  • Help with the migration of Tableau/PowerBI dashboards to internal platform after understanding business use cases
  • Develop high visibility dashboards to visualize metrics across different business verticals
  • Write SQL/Python scripts to aggregate and process data across multiple data source
  • Create ETL jobs to calculate key performance indicators
  • Work with the engineering team towards improvement of the platform


  • What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 4+ years of work experience in data or business analytics or engineering related field
  • Expert in writing SQL and familiar with multiple database systems (MySQL, Microsoft SQL server, Presto). Knowledge of Vertica is nice to have
  • Data visualization expert, familiar with tools and techniques such as Jupyter notebooks, Tableau, Power BI or Superset
  • 2+ Experience working with Python for data analytics
  • Knowledge of Javascript is nice to have
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to combine and find patterns across multiple datasets

  • Expected Compensation

    $80,000 - $150,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
