We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team and help us support our students' communication needs.
Job Description: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to work with elementary-aged students. The SLPA will assist the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) in implementing speech and language therapy programs and supporting students' communication goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the SLP in delivering speech and language therapy services to individual and group sessions.
- Implement therapy plans and interventions as outlined by the SLP.
- Conduct routine speech and language screenings and document students' progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure consistency in supporting students' communication needs.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular updates to the SLP.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and other related documentation.
- Provide support and guidance to students in their communication development, using evidence-based techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- State licensure or certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA).
- Prior experience working with children, preferably in a school setting, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow therapy plans and adapt strategies to meet individual student needs.
