Position Overview

We are seeking a PHP Backend Team Leader to lead, mentor, and evolve our PHP development team. You will be responsible for designing scalable backend solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and fostering a culture of technical excellence. This role includes technical leadership, hands-on development, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a Software Engineers Scrum Team: Manage, guide, and mentor a scrum team.
  • Solution Design: Design robust, scalable backend solutions for enterprise-grade applications.
  • Code Quality & Performance: Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure performance optimization.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Provide technical coaching to team members, promoting career development and skill-building.
  • Project Planning & Delivery: Contribute to successful planning, estimation, and execution.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of backend development experience in PHP.
  • Proven experience with PHP Symfony Framework or similar.
  • Experience working with Relational Databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Apply Code Reviews & Standards, showing the ability to enforce best practices and maintain high-quality code.
  • Demonstrated communication and leadership skills.


Desired Skills

  • Fullstack understanding, familiarity with Java (Spring Boot) and/or JS frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
  • Experience with automated build tools with PHP Composer and automated build pipelines.
  • Experience with testing tools such as JMeter, Selenium, Spock.
  • Integration & API Development, knowledge of REST, GraphQL, and API Gateway integration.
