THE OPPORTUNITY

The Software Engineer I – SQA position reports to the Senior Test Engineer within the Software Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will drive customer success by guaranteeing the quality and robustness of Silvus’ StreamCaster software.

This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA.

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Utilize quality risk assessments to guide software testing and automation.
  • Implement comprehensive test plans evaluating regression, reliability, and performance.
  • Automate tests to reduce manual overhead and improve test procedure consistency.
  • Triage defects and coordinate their resolution with hardware and software engineers.
  • Collaborate with software and sales engineers on high priority debugging efforts.
  • Own SQA test station design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Advise software design to promote adherence to software usability and quality standards.
  • Partner with engineering teams to validate software test designs.
  • Contribute to SQA’s goal of reaching 100% feature, interface, and API coverage.
  • Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Python, C/C++ programming.
  • Shell scripting.
  • Embedded/Systems software development.
  • Electrical/RF instrumentation or design.
  • Computer networking.
  • RF communications.
  • NOTE - Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.

Travel Requirements

  • Rare local travel, as required by Silvus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Indoor air-conditioned facility.
  • Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests and/or demonstrations in the field.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
    • Lift equipment, up to 50lbs., for setup of demos and testing.
    • Walking/Moving in the lab.
Compensation

The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

CA Pay Range

$80,000 - $110,000 USD

Stricter U.S. Citizen ONLY requirements are needed for some Engineering or R&D roles.
