Mission

Lead Maxon’s Data Science team, empowering data-driven decisions across departments.


What you will do:

  • Directly lead the team responsible for data infrastructure, analysis, modelling, and visualization. Grow the team, both through internal development and external hiring.
  • Define the vision for data science at Maxon. Spread a data-first mindset across multiple departments: engineering, product, marketing, sales, finance, etc. Participate in ensuring KPIs are set during planning and properly reviewed as follow-up to achieve business impact. Stay abreast of industry best practices and standards.
  • Collaboratively work to define data science team objectives, roadmaps, identify risks with mitigation plans, and actively driving best solutions. Lead scoping, sprint planning and bug fixing to achieve reliable delivery within your teams.
  • Develop processes for handling ad-hoc analysis requests while simultaneously making progress on longer term roadmap items. Make operational improvements as necessary to keep high levels of productivity at a sustainable pace.
  • Set high technical standards, building trust in data quality. Ensure data processing pipeline is robust and scales according to needs.


What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years leading highly skilled data teams, and 6+ years total working in data science.
  • A passion for engineering excellence and quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in a Databricks and Azure environment preferred.
  • Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas
