WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Operate and support cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS (EC2, S3, networking, security);
- Support deployments across staging and production environments;
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab;
- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform;
- Configure and manage containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes;
- Support customer-facing EHR integrations;
- VPN tunnel setup and troubleshooting;
- SFTP configuration (AWS Transfer Family);
- Assistance in Mirth-to-IRIS migrations (training will be provided);
- Participate in incident detection, diagnosis, resolution, and post-mortem processes;
- Monitor systems and respond to alerts using observability tools (e.g., New Relic, Wavefront);
- Collaborate closely with software engineering, QA, and DevOps teams;
- Participate in on-call rotation with a global team;
- Ensure all infrastructure activities comply with HIPAA and GDPR regulations.
MUST HAVES
- 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure roles;
- Experience working with AWS-based infrastructure and related services;
- Strong understanding of VPN tunneling, SFTP configuration, and basic networking;
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, GitLab pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes;
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python);
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within distributed teams;
- Proactive mindset with a sense of ownership and accountability;
- Comfortable participating in incident response and alerting systems;
- Willingness to collaborate with customer IT contacts for EHR integration tasks;
- Solid foundation and willingness to grow in technical depth;
- The Middle SRE position requires working a Panama schedule with 8-hour shifts daily. Additionally, on-call duties are expected 2-3 days per week, which includes being on call every other weekend;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
- Familiarity with Mirth and IRIS (standard EHR platforms);
- Experience with tools like Bitbucket, Codefresh, or Ansible;
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries;
- Exposure to infrastructure security best practices.
