Summary

Reports To: Project Delivery Manager

Department: Project Management, Europe

Employment Type: 18-months-contract


Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems at a solar park. Ensure that all work is carried out safely, on time, and to specification.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations on the solar park construction site.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor installation and testing of solar panels, inverters, transformers, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks; maintain detailed reports and documentation.
  • Liaise with project engineers, consultants, and clients to address technical issues.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedule and escalate potential delays or risks.
  • Supervise commissioning and performance testing of PV systems.
  • Report daily progress to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and lead toolbox talks on site.


Requirements


Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional registration is a plus (e.g., Engineers Ireland).

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in site engineering, preferably in utility-scale solar PV projects.
  • Construction (site) experience
  • Experience with solar PV system components (modules, inverters, switchgear).
  • Familiar with grid connection and utility interface standards.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in reading electrical drawings and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of HSE and QA/QC procedures.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Competence in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).


Preferred:

  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, energy storage, or hybrid systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in remote locations.
